What do I need to connect Threads?
You need a HubPost account and a Threads profile (it comes linked to your Instagram account). Connect it in HubPost, then add the MCP server to your agent and sign in.
Can my agent change Threads posts that are already live?
No. Your agent can edit, reschedule or delete drafts and scheduled posts, but once a post is published on Threads it can't be changed or removed from HubPost.
Will my agent post without asking me?
Most AI clients ask you to approve each tool call before it runs. You can also ask for drafts instead of scheduled posts: a draft never goes out until you schedule it.
Is the Threads MCP free?
Yes. The MCP server is included in every HubPost plan, including the free plan. Plan limits, such as how many accounts you can connect, apply the same way as in the app.
